The 11th edition of Art Central will return to Central Harbourfront on 25 March, themed 'Encounter Art, Embrace Brilliance'. The fair will present forward-thinking galleries and artists from Hong Kong, Asia and around the world, showcasing a diverse range of artworks and programmes. Over five days, visitors can enjoy performances, art installations, video art and talks, making it an annual event that art enthusiasts look forward to.
Highlight 1: Large-scale Ink Art Installation
United Overseas Bank (UOB), the lead partner of Art Central, will present a new large-scale ink art installation, White Mirror – Inner View (2026) by Hong Kong artist, Ling Pui Sze. This immersive sculptural garden combines the artist's visual research on cell imagery and her recent scientific research at the University of Cambridge. The work demonstrates her mastery of ink, paper and spatial construction through hand-crafted paper sculptures and moving images.
Highlight 2: Free Ink Art Workshops
A series of 'UOB Ink Art Workshops' will be held during the fair, led by Hong Kong artists who will guide participants to explore the evolving language of ink art. Registration is required for the workshops. For more details and registration, please visit: www.uobartacademy.com.hk/ws2026
Highlight 3: Emerging Contemporary Art from Macau
Sands China will make its debut at Hong Kong Arts Month, presenting three emerging contemporary artists from Macau – Lei Hong Wai, Leung Chi Wo and廖克敏 – at Sands Gallery, introducing the new wave of Macau art to the international stage.
Highlight 4: Exploring Indonesian Contemporary Art
While Indonesian contemporary art may be unfamiliar to many, Art Central offers a great opportunity to discover its unique cultural characteristics. Art Central, in collaboration with the Indonesian Cultural Arts Management (IKAT) of the Indonesian Cultural Arts National Talent Management Programme (BTPI), presents the 'Rising Currents' curatorial project, featuring eight leading Indonesian galleries: EDSU house, Galeri Ruang Dini, ISA Art Gallery, Puri Art Gallery, RUCI Art Space, SAL PROJECT, SEWU SATU and V&V.
Pop-up Bars and Dining
When you need a break, Art Central offers a range of dining options. Black Sheep's new Eat Central brings together five of its most popular restaurants under one roof. The lineup includes classic Cantonese dishes from Ho Lee Fook, cozy Greek tavern fare from Artemis & Apollo, French cuisine from Jean-Pierre, new Neapolitan dishes and drinks from FALCONE, and the beloved Italian gelato from Messina.
Soho House Hong Kong's pop-up bar offers a curated cocktail list, including the classic Picante and the new Highball Fifty to celebrate the opening of Soho House Tokyo, along with a range of signature House drinks. Kronenbourg 1664 presents an immersive lounge, while coffee lovers can head to the illycaffè space to enjoy a cup of coffee while admiring the illy Art Collection created by John Armleder.
